Let me explain...
My goal in our psychotherapy and life coaching work together is to create a supportive therapeutic environment in which you can explore your emotional needs, learn healthy coping mechanisms, and overcome barriers that have been limiting your full potential. Simply put, I can help you get unstuck from whatever's been holding you back.
I take an open-minded approach to your mental health and consider your work life, family traditions, racial and cultural ancestry, spiritual beliefs, and sexual identity. I am LGBTQ-inclusive, informed and affirmative, and work within an anti-oppressive model.
Are you successful in your professional life, but want to feel more fulfilled?
Do you wonder how to achieve balance, meaning and purpose in your life?
Do you want to live a more purposeful life that is deeply aligned with your values?
If your answer to any of the above questions is 'YES!', you have a lot in common with many of my life coaching clients. Together, we can develop winning strategies which will guarantee you a more positive life that fits your core values.
I am passionately committed to empowering individuals like you to reach their fullest potential and live the lives they’ve only dreamed of. As your life coach, I will partner with you to help you find clarity, make meaningful and intentional choices, and take the necessary steps to achieve what you want. Professional life and career coaching is about being clear on what you want to do, making a plan and getting it done. You can find your bliss! As your Life Coach who is also licensed to practice psychotherapy, I'll help you figure out how.
Mindfulness is the art of staying focused, moment by moment, without judgment, on the present moment. Everyday mindfulness is cultivated by assuming the observational stance of intentional awareness, practising "being" (rather than doing), and developing compassion for oneself and others. Mindfulness is an incredibly powerful practice to help you take control of your inner critic. As a trained mindfulness specialist and meditation practitioner, I can help you learn to develop and hone your mindfulness skills.
Mindfulness has been in the news a lot in recent years. Why? Because countless scientific studies have validated and supported the practice of daily mindfulness and mindfulness meditation. Simply put, it works! If you have any of the personal goals below, then mindfulness training may help you:
Curious to learn more? You're welcome to listen to and practice meditating using the free guided meditations I've recorded over the years. I incorporate a lot of mindfulness teachings into my psychotherapy and life coaching work with my clients, and I would love to help you build your own personal mindfulness practice.
Clinical hypnotherapy is an evidence-based approach in psychotherapy which integrates well with other therapeutic tools offered at Mindful Solutions Clinic, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Narrative Therapy, EMDR, Energy Psychology (EDxTM), and Mindfulness-based therapies - such as Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Acceptant and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Mindful Self-Compassion. Hypnosis can also be integrated well with life coaching, and with psycho-spiritual traditional healing using shamanic and reiki practices.
Hypnotherapy involves applying trance-work and suggestions in order to help you to access your own "inner therapist" resources.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a is a fairly new, nontraditional type of psychotherapy. It is particularly helpful in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and trauma from experiences such as military combat, physical assault, rape, or car accidents.
Mind, body and spirit need to all be in balance in order for us to thrive. This is why I also offer spiritual healing, in the forms of reiki and traditional shamanic healing as part of my core services that include psychotherapy and life coaching.

Depression symptoms are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counselling and psychotherapy treatment, I am able to help you recover the motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with anxiety, worry and fear. Psychotherapy can help you acquire the needed tools you need to better manage your day to day and overcome these symptoms.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. Psychotherapy can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of healing from your traumatic history.
Have you been burning the candle at both ends? If so, you're likely feeling burned out. And you're not alone; we are living in incredibly stressful times. In fact, stress has become one of the most serious health issues of the 20th century and a worldwide epidemic. Psychotherapy can teach you how to develop a set of techniques to help you deal more effectively with the day to day stresses in your life... so let's talk!
Do you struggle with low self-esteem, self-acceptance, self-respect, self-confidence, and/or self-love? Self-compassion and self-care can absolutely be taught! Psychotherapy can help you change your relationship with the most important person in your life: YOU.
We all will all experience losses in our lives, whether in the form of a relationship breakup, an illness, the loss of a job/financial stability, a miscarriage or infertility struggles, retirement, the death of a beloved pet, a loved one's passing, the loss of safety after a trauma, or even the sale of a cherished family home. There is no right or wrong way to grieve, but there are healthy ways to deal with the grieving process, and psychotherapy can help you come to terms with your loss.
Family and relationship issues can manifest in even the healthiest of families. They can result in strained and frustrating interactions, pent up resentments, and feelings of guilt, disappointment and anger. Psychotherapy can help you not only process these feelings, but find the right strategies that will help you forge stronger relationships with your loved ones.
Are you looking to switch careers but don't know where to start? Have you been asking yourself questions like "what's my purpose?" or "how am I meant to serve in this world?" or even "what do I really want to be when I grow up (even though I'm technically already a grown up?)"
Rest assured that I have helped countless individuals over many years on this very topic. Career counselling is part of the psychotherapy and life coaching services offered at Toronto's Mindful Solutions Clinic.
Life transitions, such as the loss of a role, a person or a place speak to a sense of loss of knowing where we fit in the world. Such transitions can feel pretty destabilizing to even the healthiest of individuals because they force us to let go of the familiar and face the future with a sense of unprepared vulnerability. Psychotherapy can help you navigate such difficult times with more confidence and clarity.
Communication issues are arguably the #1 problem that bubbles up in our relationships with other people - whether in our personal or professional life. Misunderstandings and misinterpretations happen and they often lead to arguments or tension. Psychotherapy and life coaching can be immensely helpful to help you develop better communication skills.
Trust and vulnerability are intimately connected. We can't have one without the other, and we certainly can't develop deep, meaningful, healthy and lasting relationships without them. Is this something you've noticed that you struggle with? If so, psychotherapy can help.
Toronto's Mindful Solutions Clinic offers LGBTQ-affirmative psychotherapy and life coaching to all clients, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
This means that, as your psychotherapist, I:
Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS) is a neutral trait that naturally evolved in 20% of the human population (and many non-human species too) as a survival strategy. Both men and women can be Highly Sensitive Persons (HSP).
Decades of scientific research first pioneered by Elaine Aron, PhD, have now shown that an HSP processes information differently than non-HSPs do. HSPs process information more thoroughly and deeply, and in a highly organized, big picture way. This means that HSPs are able to pick up subtle nuances that others might not notice. In addition to depth of processing information, being an HSP also leads many to become overstimulated in situations where their non-HSP counterparts (who make up the remaining 80% of the population) do not. This overstimulation can manifest as intense emotional feelings and sensory sensitivity.
Let’s dispel a very common misconception about HSPs:
Sensory Processing Sensitivity is NOT a disorder or disease, but an adaptive, inherited trait that you were born with as a survival tool.
Working with me will help you better understand this quality with which you were born. It will help you harness this trait in ways that are more healthy for you, manage your emotions, develop satisfactory relationships and create manageable work-life balance.
Curious to learn more?
I invite you to answer the questions on the HSP questionnaire.
If your results align with Sensory Processing Sensitivity, let’s work together!
Can you feel other people’s emotions in your body?
Do you regularly tend to absorb other people’s energies?
Do you often find it hard to determine whether the feelings you’re experiencing are your own emotions or someone else’s?
If so, you might be an empath. Neuroscience research into the brain’s mirror neuron system (the cells in our bodies responsible for compassion) tends to show more hyperactivity among empaths.
Empaths are more than just empathic beings. Where empathy is when you can imagine someone else’s experience and your heart goes out to them, being an empath means that you will experience another person’s sensations as though they were your own. Becoming so attuned to other people's authentic emotional and physical states does have its blessings, but it can get pretty confusing not knowing what feelings are yours, and what belongs to another person.
Most experts agree: all empaths are highly sensitive people, but not all HSPs are empaths.
Like HSPs, being an empath does NOT mean there is anything wrong with you.
Your brain is simply wired interestingly, and this difference means you can connect with people on a very deep level because your intuition, creativity and compassion are more attuned to all the stimulus around you. You notice subtle things that most others miss, and you feel them in your body. Similarly to Sensory Processing Sensitivity, empaths can get overwhelmed, especially if they are not aware of their empath trait.
Want to learn more? Take the Empath Self Assessment, developed by Judith Orloff, MD.
Afterwards, if you’re ready to learn healthy strategies to better deal with the special empath talents of your brain’s mirror neurons, and if you want to develop the skill set to empower your life as the beautiful empath that you are, let’s work together!
Are you all Zoomed-out from work? Over the years in my private practice, many of my clients have taken advantage of telephone psychotherapy and life coaching, and have found it to be incredibly powerful. So whether you're in Toronto or elsewhere within the province of Ontario, we can work together!
Telephone counselling can be an excellent solution for those of you with busy schedules, or for those of you who want to avoid commuting for therapy. Using a talk therapy approach during telephone sessions, we can work to help you overcome your negative mindsets and emotions.
To see if telephone therapy is right for you, let's talk! Schedule a free 30-minute telephone consultation and ask me what approach would be the best fit for your needs.
Accessibility matters to me! While my office is conveniently located in downtown Toronto's Greektown, at the Carrot Common (near Chester subway station, and with ample street and lot parking spots), I understand that it may not always be easy to travel for an in-office session.
This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t have access to psychotherapy, counselling, coaching, or spiritual healing services!
Regardless of where you are in Ontario, I offer video e-counselling on a platform with state-of-the-art security and encryption protocols which are PHIPAA compliant, to ensure your privacy and confidentiality.
Video e-Counselling allows us to engage with one another through a protected and private platform so that we can work together through a virtual session, just as you would if you were joining me in office. I know you are busy, but don’t let that stop you from receiving the support you need.
To discuss whether you might be the right candidate for video e-counselling, please schedule a free consult with me.
Please note that Walk & Talk Sessions in Toronto have been temporarily suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Walk and Talk Therapy, which combines mindful movement with talk psychotherapy and life coaching, is a great way to tap into the mind-body connection! Did you know that rhythmic exercise such as Walking & Talking can be conducive to the process of self-discovery? Here's why:
Walk and Talk therapy can be right for you if sitting face-to-face with your therapist causes too much anxiety for you. Walking in parallel with me would provide you with the visual distractions of the outdoor scenery, which may make it easier and less stressful for you to talk. This form of therapy isn’t about getting a high-impact cardio workout. In fact, it can be enjoyed by clients at all levels of fitness as a means of taking in fresh air while moving mindfully and processing your feelings.
Ask me if walk and talk therapy might be right for you.
Please note that in-office psychotherapy and life coaching sessions in Toronto have been temporarily suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Updates will be posted to my blog as the situation changes. Thank you for your understanding.
Please note that hypnotherapy sessions have been temporarily suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
